The Mixedwood Plains consists mostly of gently rolling hills, plains and contains 9% of Canada’s land. The Mixedwood Plains ecozone extends alongside the Quebec City-Windsor corridor, as well as the densely-populated region of southern Ontario. Prominent physical features break up the gently rolling plains of most of the ecozone. Limestone, shale, and sandstone are traits of the flat-lying St. Lawrence lowlands, while deposits from the ancient water bodies and glaciers make the soil the most productive in Canada. Mount Royal (A mountain in the city of Montreal)   rises to 227 metres above sea level from the flattest and widest sections of the Montreal Plain. The Mixedwood Plains Ecozone includes four of the Great Lakes -- Superior, Huron, Erie, and Ontario -- and the St. Lawrence River from Kingston to Quebec City. These Great Lakes compose of nearly 20% of the world's fresh’s water. This ecozone is famous for there mountains, scenery, rivers and valleys, this is the place to be if you want to get out into nature.
